He recorded nearly 800 names which you can access on the Danie Farr website (http://www.farr.co.za). My mother was a Heunis and her parents were Casper Wilhelm Heunis and Louisa Kapp. The research goes back to Hermanus Heunis, born 19 Jan. 1768 in Leiden, Nederland. If you can link up your family with any of those Heunis’s just send your information to Danie and he will add it to the website.

My pa was die oudste van 6 kinders van CC Heunis (Cornelius Christiaan Heunis) wat met Edith Kapp getroud was. Hulle het ook oorspronklik in Knysna bewoon waar my pa, Johannes Alexander (Bobby) gebore is in 1918. Ek weet nie of sy broer, Christiaan Cornelius (Groot Neels), Basie (die jongste broer), Rita (oudste suster) Edith (middel suster) en Johanna (jongste suster) ook daar gebore was nie. Oupa en Ouma Heunis het later Grahamstad toe getrek en nog later Boesmansriviermond toe. Sover ek weet is almal oorlede (veral in 1994!), maar ek is nie seker van Tannie Edie (wat laas Sedgefield toe getrek het) nie. Oom Neels se vrou, Tannie Crimora, leef nog (in haar 80′s) in Grahamstad. Bobby (my pa) se kinders is Edie (afgetree en bly iewers in die Weskus), Loretta (dokter in Boesmans), Claudette (ek) wat nou in Sacramento, California bly, Andre (Port Elizabeth) en Rochelle (sterf in motorongeluk in 1994). Dis nou genoeg vir eers.
Kan iemand my asseblief die posadres van Loftus Heunis stuur? Ek stel baie belang in die familie wapen.

Oupa Hannes het ‘n paar broers gehad, onder andere Jan, Fanie, Sam, en Hertjie. Laasgenoemde was die jongste. My oorl. Pa (Pieter) het vertel hoe hulle as kinders by Oom Fanie-hulle in die bos gaan kuier het. Blykbaar het Oom Fanie (dit mag dalk jou oupa wees) hout gemaak in die bos, en het hy dit ook uitgery Knysna toe. Oupa Hannes het volgens oorlewering onder oom Fanie se naam ook hout gemaak. My pa het ook vertel hoe hulle as familie elke jaar oor Kerstyd met oom Fanie se wa en osse?? afgetrek het Nature’s Valley toe en daar vir die maand vakansie gaan hou het.
Ons kan dalk direkte kleinneefs wees. Terloops, ons het my pa op “band” opgeneem waar hy vertel van hulle grootword jare in die bos. Jy kan my gerus telefonies kontak. Ek woon in Kuilsrivier. Sel. no. 0765519644 e.pos; maheunis@telkomsa.net. Ons kan gerus so ‘n Heunis saamtrek organiseer.
